、over7.27.12L. Lee2.0 SCOPEThis specification covers the test procedures and levels for qualification of shipping packages for all Dell products. This minimum requirement is for all products shipped to and from all Dell facilities by all modes of transportation and includes O.E.M. equipment.3.0 PURPO
、SE The packaging should provide protection for the product from the environmental conditions it will see from the manufacturing site to the final customer. The purpose of this specification is to define the minimum test requirements to insure that the packaging will protect the product from the hand
、ling, storage and shipping environments it will be exposed to. There are four tests (vibration, drop, compression, and chassis sag) and three product types (Single container, palletized container weighing 45W250 pounds and palletized container weighing more than 250 pounds) defined in this specifica
、tion.3.1 Deviation to SpecificationChanges or deviations to this specification are permitted with the appropriate Dell Packaging Engineers approval. Rational and justification must be documented in the test report. Additional tests maybe performed if it is deemed necessary because of a special or un

Pictures of product and packaging after testing is recommended to better communicate failures as appropriate. 27、 (3) is required for compression testing. It is recommended to use a sample of (3), if product is available and it is economically feasible.5.1 Pretest Product and Packaging EvaluationBefore testing begins, both product and packaging should be visually inspected to see that it is free of mechanical
、and cosmetic defects. If defects are found and determined to be minor, it should be noted before the testing is performed. The product should be functionally tested in accordance with the relevant specifications and diagnostic test procedures. 5.2 Post Test Product EvaluationAfter each test the prod
、uct should be visually inspected and functionally tested to insure it is free of mechanical and cosmetic damage and functionally tested in accordance with the relevant specification and diagnostic test procedure. 5.3 Post Test Packaging EvaluationAfter each test the packaging should be inspected to
、insure that it has not degraded to an extent that it no longer provides significant protection to the product. Examples of unacceptable degradation are excessive shearing, separating or cracking of the cushioning material or degradation of the outer container to a point that the contents are exposed
、 or will no longer contain the product and accessories.5.4 Response of Critical Component EvaluationThe container should protect the critical components within the product so they do not exceed their stand-alone fragility levels. Critical components maybe monitored with accelerometers during testing and their results compared to known fragility data of the product. When accelerometers are used, the location should be agreed prior to testing with the Dell Packaging Engineer. Typically the accelerometers, if not on a critical component, should be on a rigid lo
