Abstract
WutheringHeightsistheonlygreatnovelofEmily·BronteinBritain.Throughthedescriptionofthedifferentmarriagesandlove,tosomeextent,itreflectsVictorianloveandmaritalstatus.DuringtheperiodofVictoria,womenalmosthavenorighttochoosemarriagebythemselves,becauseitisapatriarchalagewhenmalesaresuperiortofemales,andwomenusuallyareaccessoriestomen.
Thispapercentersthemarriageofthreeyoungfemale(Catherine,IsabellaandCathy)inWutheringHeights,andprobesintothetragicalcausesabouttheirmarriagesbycomparing.Therearetwomaincauses,oneistheinternalcauseaboutthecharacters’characteristicsanalysisofthreefemales;anotherisexternalcauseaboutsocialpressureandmaritalculture.Meanwhile,Emily·Bronte’sconceptaboutmarriageisalsoexploredinthispaper.Finallyitdrawstheconclusion:
anidealmarriageshouldbebasedontruelove,apermanentandfirmmarriageshouldassociatewithdeeplovedownintosoulandmaterialbasis.
Itishopedthatthestudywouldprovidesomeusefulinformationtocurrentyoungwomen,andtheycouldbalancetherelationshipbetweenloveandmarriage,andunderstandhowtomanagetheirmarriageandhowtoowntheirhappiness.

摘要
《呼啸山庄》是英国女作家艾米丽唯一的一篇小说,这部小说通过描写不同人物之间的爱情婚姻,从一定角度反映出了当时社会的爱情与婚姻状况。
在当时维多利亚时期,女性几乎没有自主选择婚姻的权利,因为那是一个男性地位优于女性的父权时代,女人一般只是作为男人的附属品而存在。
本文以对小说《呼啸山庄》中的三位年轻女性(Catherine,IsabellaandCathy)的婚姻的分析和研究为中心,通过比较分析,深入研究造成她们悲剧婚姻的原因,主要从内因和外因两个方面来探析,内因主要是从生活环境和人物性格出发,外因则是当时社会制度和婚姻文化方面。
同时还对作者艾米丽的婚姻观加以探索。
最后得出结论:
幸福的婚姻要以真爱为基础,只有当灵魂之爱和物质基础相结合,婚姻才会更加长久牢固。
通过对《呼啸山庄》女性婚姻的探究,笔者希望可以帮助当代社会年轻女性进一步弄清婚姻的本质,更加深刻地认识到爱情和婚姻之间的关系,同时能从中悟出平衡爱情和婚姻的办法,能尽量避免尴尬不幸的婚姻的产生。

Introduction
Whetheritisinthepast,orinthemoderntime,marriagehasalwaysbeenahottopic.Brieflyspeaking,marriageisthepeople'sviewsandattitudestowardsmarriageandfamily.Itisformedinthelong-termsocialsystem,thehabitsandcustoms.Theviewofmarriageisrelatedtothewriter'sthoughts,socialculture,andcharacteristicsofthetimes,themarriageofseveralgenerationsintheWutheringHeightsbasicallyreflectstheconventionalformofmarriageinVitoriasociety,italsoreflectstheauthorEmily'sattitudetowardsmarriage.
WutheringHeightsistheonlynovelofBritishwriterEmilyBronteinnineteenthCentury,whichplaysasignificantroleintheEnglishliterature,andevenintheworldliterature(LiangJing,HuangYizhen,2009).Asastunningmasterpiece,WutheringHeightswasremarkedbyDavidCecil,“inVictoriatime,WutheringHeightsistheonlyonenovelwhich(evenpartially)cannotbebleakbythedustoftime.”Evenfromotherpeople’sperspective,itisagreatnovelwhichrefusestolettheheroinebetweenthedilemmaandsocialcustomsfindcompromise(GaoWanglong,1997).Loveandmarriageisthemainlinerunningthroughthenovel(WutheringHeights),ittellsastoryaboutloveandhateamongafewofyoungpeoplesandtheirtragicalmarriage.Afterall,innineteenthCentury,themarriagealmostbecomethebestwaytosolvealltheproblemsofwomen,thatiswhymarriageandahappyendingofnovelinnineteenthCenturywasverypopular.JaneEyreandPrideandPrejudicearemoreprominentinthiskindofwork.WhiletheendingoftheheroandheroineinWutheringHeightsisquitecontrarytothecontemporaneousworks.[13]Thecolouroftragedythroughoutcastsoverthewholenovel.
Merely,thisnoveliswidelypopularwithlearners,theyhavemadenumerouscommentariestostudyit.ThesestudiesandcommentsmainlygiveWutheringHeightsexplanationsfromthefollowingfiveaspects:
1、ThethematicinterpretationofWutheringHeightsandcomparison,forexample,LiFangxiupointedoutinWutheringHeightsandCriticismofPatriarchalSystempublishedinJournalofLanguageandLiterature,itactuallyrevealsthepatriarchalsocialevilsthroughabizarreandbrutalstoryaboutloveandrevengebyEmily.2、ThestudyofartisticcharminginWutheringHeights,inZhaoHuihui’sopinion,WutheringHeightsisaperfectmodelofcombiningmodernismandromanticism.3、ThecomparativestudiesofWutheringHeights,whichmainlyresearchonWutheringHeightsandworksathomeandabroadfromdifferentperspectives,suchasthecomparativestudyofWutheringHeightsandJaneEyre,thecomparativestudyofWutheringHeightsandThe Return ofNative.4、TheimagestudyofHeathcliff,LiXiaopengmakesdiscussionsaboutHeathcliff’sdistortedpersonalityfromtheperspectiveofpsychology,andmakesareasonableexplanationforHeathcliff’scharacterfromtheangleofinferiority.5、TheexplorationofEmilyBrontandWutheringHeights,DongMinhadtriedtoexploreEmily’scharacteristicfeaturesandmaritalattitude,aswellasWutheringHeights’influencefromthecharacterization,textstyle,themeexploration.
Meanwhile,anumberoffamousliteraturewritersholdrespectiveuniqueunderstandingtotheloveinWutheringHeights.Forinstance,“IhaveneverreadsucharealisticnovelasWutheringHeightsthatputsthepain,strongandcrueldescriptionintolove.”WillianSomerMaugham(1984)remarkedWutheringHeightsin“Atlantic”.“WutheringHeightsexpressedtheessenceoflove.IthinkitfullydeservesthemostimpressivelovestoryinwesternliteratureorChineseliterature.”XuZhimoalsosaid,afamousChinesepoet.Certainly,wecouldnotdenythatEmilyBrontedepictsloveascontradictorywhirlpool(LiaoHongzhong2003),andmostpeoplecouldnothelptrippingintoit.
Inthispaper,fromafeministperspective,thewritertriestostudythewomen'marriageinWutheringHeights,theaimistohelpyoungwomenincontemporarysocietytogetabetterunderstandingofthetruthofmarriage,considercarefullymatechoice,establishthecorrectvaluedirectionofmarriage.ManylearnershaveresearchedthematterofmarriageinWutheringHeights,butmostofthemeitherdrawmoreattentiontooneortwocharactersinWutheringHeights,forinstance,theanalysisofHeathcliff,orintroduceoneortwopairs’marriage,theyhavenoideaaboutthestudyofseveralofmarriageinWutheringHeightsatthesametimebycomparativemethod.Sointhispaper,thetopiconthreeyoungfemalemarriageofWutheringHeightwillbeexplored.
Marriageasthestartingpoint,thispaperfocusesonthetragedyofthreeyoungwomen(Catherine,IsabellaandCathy)inmarriageofthenovel,analysisofthereasonsforthefailureoftheirmarriage,aswellasEmilyBronte’sattitudetowardsmarriage.Ononehand,tostrengthenthesenseofresponsibilityforthemajorityofwomenontheirownmarriage,ontheotherhand,thethesisistoemphasizetheimportanceofanicemarriageforwomen.

EmilyBrontewasanovelistandpoetinthenineteenthCenturyBritish.ShewasoneoftheBrontesisters.Thewriteronlyspentthirtyyearsintheworldanddisappearedintoobscurity.However,heronlynovel,WutheringHeightshasestablishedherpositioninthehistoryofBritishliteratureandthehistoryofworldliterature.Inaddition,shealsowrote193poems,shewasevenconsideredtobeaBritishgeniusauthoress.ShewasadazzlingpearlofBritishliteraryworldinnineteenthCentury.
In1819,EmilyBrontewasborninapoorpriest'sfamily,shehastwosistersandonebrother.Herfather,PetrieBronte,avillagepriest,likestodiscusspolitics.Likeothersisters,Emilyisstrongandcompetent.Afterhermother'sdeath,therearefewincomeintheirfamilyforalongperiodoftime,soEmilywithhersistersoftenhavetogoouttowork,suchasteachinganddoingtutortosubsidizetheirfamilyexpenses.In1846,Emilyandhersisterspublishedapoetryunderthepseudonymbyraisingfunds,whatwasunexpected,theyjustsoldtwocopies.In1847,Charlotte’sJaneEyre,Emily’sWutheringHeights,Anne’sAgnesGray,finallypublished.However,WutheringHeightscounteredwithcountlessunacceptablevoicesandutterances,exceptCharlotte’sJaneEyre,whichhasbeensellinglikehotcakes.
InSeptember,1848,Emily’sonlybrotherBranwelldiedfromchronicalcoholism,drugaddiction.Emilyfeltrelaxedinspirit,butshewasstillgrievedforherdeadbrother.Unluckily,thiswriterpassedawayfromtheworld,becauseshegotillabrupt
