Thereareseveralimpressivecharactersinthisnovel,Georgewhoiscleverandbrave;Harry,abeautifulandtalentedchildwhosingsdancesandmimes;Mrs.Shelby,averyreligiouswoman;SamboandQimboandsoon.ThemajorcharacterUncleTomwhowasthemostimpressiveinthisnovelwasadevoutChristian.Heenduredthemiserablefatebravelyandarousedthewhite'ssympathyforslaveswithhisChrist'ssacrificeandthetoleranceofreturninggoodforevil.ThisnovelfocusesonthedistinctivepersonalitiesofUncleTomdeeplyinfluencedbyChristianityandtheimportantroleUncleTom'sCabinplayingonabolition;andtheSignificanceof“UncleTom”totheharmoniousworld'sdevelopment,andtheeffectonmodernpeople.
