regoingtobeagreatstockpicker,youneedsomegeneraleducation.
So,emphasizingwhatIsometimeswaggishlycallremedialworldlywisdom,I'
mgoingtostartbywaltzingyouthroughafewbasicnotions.
Whatiselementary,worldlywisdom?
Well,thefirstruleisthatyoucan'
treallyknowanythingifyoujustrememberisolatedfactsandtryandbang'
emback.Ifthefactsdon'
thangtogetheronalatticeworkoftheory,youdon'
thavetheminausableform.

vegottohavemodelsinyourhead.Andyou'

Whatarethemodels?
Well,thefirstruleisthatyou'
vegottohavemultiplemodels?
becauseifyoujusthaveoneortwothatyou'
reusing,thenatureofhumanpsychologyissuchthatyou'
lltorturerealitysothatitfitsyourmodels,oratleastyou'
llthinkitdoes.Youbecometheequivalentofachiropractorwho,ofcourse,isthegreatboobinmedicine.

tnaturallyandautomaticallydothis.Ifyouunderstandelementarypsychology,thereasontheycan'
tisreallyquitesimple:
Thebasicneuralnetworkofthebrainistherethroughbroadgeneticandculturalevolution.Andit'
