Abstract
ThenewrequestfortheseniorhighschoolEnglishwritinginaccordancewiththenewcurriculumstandardvaluesmoreandmoretheabilitiesofstudents’independence,cooperation,innovationandapplicationofamulti-medianetworktocarryoncommunicatingstudyandsearchinginformation.Whatmakesushappyisthatthemulti-medianetworktechnologyjustcansatisfyalltheaboveaspectsoftherequestsofthenewcurriculumstandardattherightmoment.Comparingthemulti-medianetworkwritingteachingwithtraditionalteaching,theformerhasmoreadvantagesthanthelatter.Duringteaching,theteachercanprovidevariousstimulatingmaterials,andthestudentscanmakeuseofanetworkplatformforindependentsearchforandprocessingofmaterials.Theycanalsocommunicateanddiscussthetopicsandevaluateworkswitheachother.However,themulti-medianetworkwritingteachingalsohasshortagesofitself,soitneedsustomakegreatefforttoovercomethem.Onlyinthiswaycanwegetagoodteachingeffect.

1.NewRequesttotheSeniorHighSchoolEnglishWriting
Therequestofnewcurriculumstandardpromulgatedin2003forseniorhighschoolstudent’swritingskillhasexaltationonthefoundationoforiginalEnglishsyllabusinSeniorHighSchool.Thisnewrequestmainlyfocusesat:
ifstudentscanindependentlydraftasimplereport;
iftheycanwriteabriefstoryaccordingtothepictures;
iftheyhavetheabilitytoreorganizethetextasshortplay;
iftheycanwritememos,simplelettersandgreetingcardswiththefittinglanguage;
iftheycandescribepersonsoraffairsandexpresstheirownviews;
iftheycanfillinformsrelatingtopersonalcircumstance;
iftheycanwriteashortcompositionwhichhascoherentlanguagemeaningandcompletestructures.What’smore,thewritingskill’srequesttograduatestudentsintheseniorhighschoolalsobecomeshigherandmoreconcretethanbefore.Forexample:
(1)studentscanwritesummary,report,notice,andofficialbusinessletterinEnglishandsoon;
(2)theycandescribescenario,attitudeandfeelingsinEnglishmoredetailedandvividly;
(3)theycanelaboratetheirownstandpointsandcommentthestandpointofotherswithproperliterarystyleandaccuratephrases;
(4)theycanfillinvariousformsandwriteresumesorapplications;
(5)theycanmakenot-professionaltranslationsandsoon.
Curriculumstandardnotonlyemphasizestherequesttothestudents’abilityofwriting,whichtrainsstudentstohavetheabilityofexpressingfact,standpoint,emotionandcommunicatinginformation;
cultivatesstudent’swritinghabitofnorm;
trainsstudentstohavetheabilityofproblemanalysis,problem-solving,anddevelopingtheirjudgmentthinking,butalsoemphasizestoraisestudents’ownattainmentwhichneedstotakestudentsascorpusandmakestudentsthecenter;
todevelopstudentstheabilityofindependentlearningandcooperativelearning;
tocultivatestudentstheabilityofusingcomprehensivelanguage;
tomakestudentsfosterEnglishculturalconsciousness;

However,teachingundermulti-medianetworkenvironmentjustcanwellmeetthenewrequestofnewcurriculumstandard,anditalsomatchestheteachingviewsofconstructivismandhumanismwhicharehelpfulforraisingstudents’abilityofusingsynthesizelanguagecompletely,anddevelopingthestudent’sEnglishwritingskillintheenvironmentofthegoodmulti-medianetworkadequately.
2.ComparisonofWritingTeachingbetweenTwoModes
2.1Thedefinitionsofthetwoconcepts
Multi-medianetworkEnglishteachingmode:
itcarriesoutEnglishteachingwithcomputerandnetwork,mutuallycombinedwiththecontrolcentre,whichincludingthevideopresent,projectingapparatus,DVD,recorderandacousticequipmentsforthemulti-mediaplatform.ItcangetsupportfromthecomprehensiveusageofvariousmediainEnglishculturalbackgroundteaching.ManytechniquesandmethodsareusedfortheteachingofEnglish,forexample,thecomputersupportingfacilities,broadcasting,television,movie,andelectronicspublicationetc.,whichconcretelyincludessongs,briefstrokes,slides,videos,videofrequencyCDs,animationsetc.Thismodereallymakesteachers,instructionalmediaandteachingeffecttrulyattainthree-in-one.
TraditionalEnglishteachingmode:
ittakesteachersasthecenter.Teachersexplainknowledgeindetail,withvarioussimplemediaasteachingmeansandmethodsintroducingknowledgetostudents.Inthismode,studentspassivelyacceptknowledgethattheteacherteaches.Inaword,teachersteachontheirowninitiative,andstudentsarethepassivereceiversoftheexternalworldincitementofknowledge,andtheteachingmaterialsarethecontentsthattheteachersinstilltowardsthestudents,andsimpleinstructionalmediaarethemainlymethodsandmeansthattheteachersinstilltowardsthestudents.Teacher,student,teachingmaterials,whichhavetheirrespectiveclearfunctions,andtherelationbetweeneachotherisexplicit.Itbecomesakindofstablestructureformofteachingactivityprogress,andnamelyteachingmode.
2.2Theadvantagesoftheteachingunderthemulti-medianetwork

Forthewritingteachingintraditionalseniorhighschools,teachersarethewholecenterofteaching,andstudentsarejustthepassivereceivers.Inclass,teachersexplainvocabulariesofwritingindetail,analysissentencestructures,provideexcellentexamplesontheblackboardforstudents,andletallstudentscarryonwritingaroundagiventopic.Afterclass,teacherscorrectthestudents’compositionsinaveryslowspeed,sowhatthestudentshavetododuringthetimeistowaitpatientlyfortheresultsthattheteacherwillgivethem.Wecanobviouslygetthatthiskindofmodeisimpossibletoarousestudents’stronginterestsinwriting,andthearticlesallthestudentswritewillbelikelytobemonotonous.ItmaynotagreewiththetunnelexpressionmethodinEnglish,andstudentscan’thaveinnovationandcreation,either.
Themulti-medianetworkteachingisakindofmodewhichgathersvariousteachingmedia,suchastexts,pictures,animations,voicesandsoon.Itcanprovidestudentswiththeincitementsofvarioussenseswhichwillbehelpfulforstudentstoobtainandkeepknowledge,andalsolargelystirupstudents’enthusiasminstudies.What’smore,itcanencouragestudentstoparticipateactivelyinclassroom,andthenraisetheteachingefficiency.Teachersmakeuseofthemultimediatochangethewritingsontheblackboardintovividpicturesoranimationsofimage,andpleasingmusicisregardedasthetoolsofteaching.Inthisway,itnotonlysavestimeofwritingandpaintingonblackboard,butalsoitextendsthecapacityofteaching,andmakestheimportantanddifficultpointsofknowledgeoutstanding.Multi-mediaandprovidesacomfortablewritingenvironmentforstudentsmoreeasilytocomprehendandmastertheknowledgeandtechniqueofEnglishwriting.Afterclass,withnetworkplatformslikeBBS,E-mails,teacherscanorganizestudentstocarryondiscussionsforexchangingviews,evaluatingandcorrectingthecompositionsforeachother,anditnotonlycanhelpsavealotoftimeforteacher’scorrectionofcompositions,butalsocanitmakestudentsknowtheshortagesofstandpointsintheirowncompositionsinashorttime,sotheycancorrectthemistakesintime.
