Acrossseveralstudies,weaskedparticipantstoassesshowfrequentlytheyhidtheirsecretduringconversationswithothers,andalsohowfrequentlytheythoughtaboutthesecretoutsideofsocialcommunications.Wefoundthatthemorefrequentlypeoplesimplythoughtabouttheirsecrets,thelowertheirwell-being.Thefrequencyofactivehidingwhencommunicatingwithothers,however,hadnorelationshiptowell-being.
