Pingtanislandisthelargestislandinfujianprovince,andthe5thlargestislandinChina,itliesintheeastoceanofFujianprovinceandTheTaiwanstraits.ThediatancetoTaiwanislandis68nauticalmile.

Pingtanisland,isshortwintersandlongsummers.Insummer,itiscoolandwarm;inwinter,itisfrostandsnowrare.Springtemperatureislowerthanautumntemperatureformanyyears.Theaveragetemperatureis19.6;thecoldestdayaveragetemperatureis10.2andthehottestdayaveragetemperatureis27.9.
