Vinylacetate(VAc)isoneofthe50mostimportantchemicalproductsintheworld.Itisanimportantorganicchemicalrawmaterial.Easypolymerization,polymerizationbyitselforwithothermonomers,mainlyusedintheproductionofpolyvinylacetate(PVAc),polyvinylalcohol(PVA),ethylenevinylacetatecopolymeremulsion(VAE)or(EVA)copolymerresin,vinylacetateandvinylchloridecopolymer(EVC),acetalresinderivatives.Theuseofthesederivativesisverywide,canbeusedforfiber,adhesives,coatings,emulsifier,textilesizingandfinishingagent,film,safetyglass,watersolublefilm,soilimprovementagentandsoon,widelyusedinconstruction,machinery,automobile,textile,papermaking,packaging,printinganddyeing,printing,furniture,cigaretteandotherdepartments.Withtheprogressofscienceandtechnology,newapplicationfieldsarestillexpanding.First,theproductionprocessofvinylacetate,vinylacetateproductionprocess,productionofvinylacetate,thereareusuallytworoutesofrawmaterials,ethyleneandacetylene.Ethylenegasphaseethylenegasphasemethodiscurrentlyadoptedabroadmanymethods,theprocessofethylene,oxygenandaceticacidvaporinthenoblemetalPd-Au(orPt)catalystcatalystandpotassiumacetate,at100to200DEGC,0.6~0.8MPaundertheconditionofreactioninfixedbedreactor.Thereactionproductsobtainedbyseparation,distillationofvinylacetate.Thekeydifferencebetweenthetwoprocesses,thatis,BayergasphasemethodandUSIgasphasemethod,isthatthecatalystisthecatalyst.BayermethodhashighcatalyticactivityandtheyieldofspacetimeisabouttwotimesofUSI.Theoperationconditionsaresevere,andthecatalystlifeisnotlongerthanthatofUSImethod,butgenerallymorethan1years.ThecatalystactivityofUSImethodishighwithoutBayerandlowinspacetime,buttheoperationconditionismildandcatalystlifeislonger.ThusitcanbeseenthatBayermethodhasmoreadvantagesthanUSImethod.Therefore,theproductionofvinylacetatefromvariouscountriesintheworldadoptstheBayermethod.Atpresent,foreigncompaniessuchasBPandCelanesehaveoptimizedandimprovedonthebasisoftraditionalgasphasetechnology,anddevelopedmoreadvancedtechnologies,suchasBPLeaptechnologyandCelaeseVaantagetechnology.Acetylenegasphasemethod:
