42-1DynamicBraking:
Effective(From2011/1/1)
42-11.1EffectivedateandScope:
42-11.1.1Effectivedatefrom2011/1/1,thenewnon-electricvehiclevariantsofcategorysymbolsM,NandO,andfrom2011/7/1newelectricvehiclevariantsofcategorysymbolsM,NandO,shallcomplywiththisregulation.
42-11.1.2Effectivedatefrom2011/1/1,allvehiclevariantsofcategorysymbolsL2andL5,shallcomplywiththisregulation.
42-11.1.3Effectivedatefrom2013/1/1,allvehiclevariantsofcategorysymbolsM,NandO,whichwereconfirmedwith“42DynamicBraking”regulatedin“Directions”,ifit’sequipautomaticallycommandedbrakingoroptionalbraking,shallconformtoparagraph5.1.12;ifequipemergencybrakedsignalfunctionshallconformtoparagraph5.1.13and6.1.21inaddition.
42-11.1.4Effectivedatefrom2013/7/1,allvehiclevariantsofcategorysymbolsM,NandO,ifit’sequippedwithelectricalregenerativebrakingsystem,shallcomplywiththisregulation.
42-11.1.5Thisregulationdoesnotsuitablefor:
42-11.1.5.1Vehicleswithadesignspeednotexceeding25km/hr.
42-11.1.5.2Trailerswhichmaynotbecoupledtopower-drivenvehicleswithadesignspeedexceeding25km/h.
42-11.1.6Thesameapplicantapplyingforlowvolumesafetyapprovalandtheamountsofvehiclenotexceed3atsameyearandthecategorysymbolsM1,L3orL5ofsamevariantandspecification,couldexemptfromregulationof“dynamicbraking”.
42-11.1.7Thesameapplicantapplyingforvehicle-by-vehiclelowvolumesafetyapprovalandtheamountsofvehiclenotexceed20atsameyearandsmallpassengervehicleofsamevariantandspecification,couldexemptfromregulationof“dynamicbraking”.
42-11.1.8Thesameapplicantapplyingforvehicle-by-vehiclelowvolumesafetyapprovalandtheamountsofvehiclenotexceed20ororganizations、schoolsimportedN2,N3orclassⅢ,classⅣlargepassengervehiclesforself-useonlyatsameyearandsmallpassengervehicleofsametypeandspecification,itcouldexemptfromregulationofsecondarybrakingsystemperformance,reserve(s)ofenergydevicetestand42-1.5.2.3.2.3or42-1.6.2.3.4.3of“dynamicbraking”.
42-11.2Definitions
42-11.2.1Transmission:
meansthecombinationofcomponentscomprisedbetweenthecontrolsystemandthebrakeandlinkingthemfunctionally.Thetransmissionmaybemechanical,hydraulic,pneumatic,electricalormixed.Wherethebrakingpowerisderivedfromorassistedbyasourceofenergyindependentofthedriver,thereserveofenergyinthesystemislikewisepartofthetransmission.Thetransmissionisdividedinto2independentfunctions:
thecontroltransmissionandtheenergytransmission.Whenevertheterm“transmission”isusedaloneinthisregulation,itmeansboththe“controltransmission”andthe“energytransmission.
42-11.2.2ControlTransmission:
meansthecombinationofthecomponentsofthetransmissionwhichcontroltheoperationofthebrakes(includingthecontrolfunctionandthenecessaryreserve(s)ofenergy).
42-11.2.3EnergyTransmission:
meansthecombinationofthecomponentswhichsupplytothebrakesthenecessaryenergyfortheirfunction(includingthereserve(s)ofenergynecessaryfortheoperationofthebrakes).
42-11.2.4AutomaticBraking:
meansbrakingofthetrailerortrailersoccurringautomaticallyintheeventofseparationofcomponentsofthecombinationofcoupledvehicles,includingsuchseparationthroughthebreakageofacoupling,theeffectivenessofthebrakingoftheremainderofthecombinationnotbeingtherebydestroyed.
42-11.2.5EnduranceBrakingSystem:
meansanadditionalbrakingsystemhavingthecapabilitytoprovideandtomaintainabrakingeffectoveralongperiodoftimewithoutasignificantreductioninperformance.
42-11.2.6ElectricRegenerativeBraking:
meansabrakingsystemwhich,duringdeceleration,providesfortheconversionofvehiclekineticenergyintoelectricalenergy.
42-11.2.6.1ElectricregenerativebrakingsystemofcategoryA:
meansanelectricregenerativebrakingsystemwhichisnotpartoftheservicebrakingsystem.
42-11.2.6.2ElectricregenerativebrakingsystemofcategoryB:
meansanelectricregenerativebrakingsystemwhichispartoftheservicebrakingsystem.
42-11.2.7AutomaticallyCommandedBraking:
meansafunctionwithinacomplexelectroniccontrolsystemwhereactuationofthebrakingsystem(s)orbrakesofcertainaxlesismadeforthepurposeofgeneratingvehicleretardationwithorwithoutadirectactionofthedriver,resultingfromtheautomaticevaluationofon-boardinitiatedinformation.
42-11.2.8SelectiveBraking:
meansafunctionwithinacomplexelectroniccontrolsystemwhereactuationofindividualbrakesismadebyautomaticmeansinwhichvehicleretardationissecondarytovehiclebehaviourmodification.
42-11.2.9Brakingsignal:
logicsignalindicatingbrakeactivationasspecifiedinparagraph42-1.5.1.12and42-1.6.1.20.
42-11.2.10Emergencybrakingsignal:
logicsignalindicatingemergencybrakingasspecifiedinparagraph42-1.5.1.13and42-1.6.1.21.
42-11.3DynamicBrakingshallaccordingtosuitablevariantsandrangeofprincipleareasbelow:
42-11.3.1Thesamevehiclecategorysymbol.
42-11.3.2Thesameaxlesetvariant.
42-11.3.3Thesamebrandandvehicletype.
42-11.3.4Thechassisvehiclehavehadsameaxlesetvariant.
42-11.3.5Thesamechassisbrand.
42-11.3.6Chassismanufacturersannouncedthatthesamechassisvehicletype.
42-11.3.7Ifusechassisvehicleinsteadofcompletedvehicleforentireorpartialtesting,whichshallaccordingtosuitablevariantsandrangeofprincipleareasbelow:
42-11.3.7.1Thechassisvehiclehavehadsameaxlesetvariant.
42-11.3.7.2Thesamebrand.
42-11.3.7.3Chassismanufacturersannouncedthatthesamechassisvehicletype.
42-11.3.8Ifusecombinedbraking(includingentirelyunitofdevice,layerstructure,dimension,axisandtyreallocatedinstallation)oftrailerinsteadofcompletedvehicleforentireorpartialtesting,whichshallaccordingtosuitablevariantsandrangeofprincipleareasbelow:
42-11.3.8.1Thecombinedbrakinghavehadsameaxlesetvariant.
42-11.3.8.2Thesamecombinedbrakingbrand.
42-11.3.8.3Thesamecombinedbrakingtype.
42-11.4Specifications:
42-11.4.1ThebrakingsystemofcategorysymbolsM,NandOmustfulfillthefollowingfunctions.
42-11.4.1.1ServiceBrakingsystem:
Theservicebrakingsystemmustmakeitpossibletocontrolthemovementofthevehicleandtohaltitsafely,speedilyandeffectively,whateveritsspeedandload,onanyupordowngradient.Itmustbepossibletograduatethisbrakingaction.Thedrivermustbeabletoachievethisbrakingactionfromhisdrivingseatwithoutremovinghishandsfromthesteeringcontrol.
42-11.4.1.2SecondaryBrakingSystem(optionalforvehiclesofcategorysymbolL):
Thesecondarybrakingsystemmustmakeitpossibletohaltthevehiclewithinareasonabledistanceintheeventoffailureoftheservicebrakingsystem.Itmustbepossibletograduatethisbrakingaction.Thedrivermustbeabletoobtainthisbrakingactionfromhisdrivingseatwhilekeepingatleastonehand(bothhandsforM1)onthesteeringcontrol.
42-11.4.1.3ParkingBrakingsystem:
(optionalforvehiclesofcategorysymbolL)
42-11.4.1.3.1Theparkingbrakingsystemmustmakeitpossibletoholdthevehiclestationaryonanupordowngradientevenintheabsenceofthedriver,theworkingpartsbeingthenheldinthelockedpositionbyapurelymechanicaldevice.Thedrivermustbeabletoachievethisbrakingactionfromhisdrivingseat.
42-11.4.1.3.2Oneverytrailerwhichisrequiredtobeequippedwithaservicebrakingsystem,parkingbrakingmustbeassuredevenwhenthetrailerisseparatedfromthetowingvehicle.Theparkingbrakingdevicemustbecapableofbeingactuatedbyapersonstandingontheground;however,inthecaseofatrailerusedforthecarriageofpassengers,thisbrakemustbecapableofbeingactuatedfrominsidethetrailer.
42-11.4.1.3.3Iftheoperationoftheparkingbrakingsystemonthepower-drivenvehiclealsooperatesabrakingsystemonthetrailer,thenthefollowingadditionalrequirementsshallbemet:
42-11.4.1.3.3.1Whenthepower-drivenvehicleisequippedaccordingtoparagraph42-1.4.1.5.1below,theactuationoftheparkingbrakesystemofthepower-drivenvehicleshallactuateabrakingsystemonthetrailerviathepneumaticcontrolline.
42-11.4.1.3.3.2Whenthepower-drivenvehicleisequippedaccordingtoparagraph42-1.4.1.5.2,theactuationoftheparkingbrakesystemonthepower-drivenvehicleshallactuateabrakingsystemonthetrailerasprescribedinparagrapha.above.Inaddition,theactuationoftheparkingbrakesystemmayalsoactuateabrakingsystemonthetrailerviatheelectriccontrolline..
42-11.4.1.3.3.3Whenthepower-drivenvehicleisequippedaccordingtoparagraph42-1.4.1.5.3,theactuationoftheparkingbrakingsystemonthepower-drivenvehicleshallactuateabrakingsystemonthetrailerviatheelectriccontrolline.Whentheelectricalenergyforthebrakingequipmentofthepower-drivenvehicleisswitchedoff,thebrakingofthetrailershallbeeffectedbyevacuationofthesupplyline(inaddition,thepneumaticcontrollinemayremainpressurised);thesupplylinemayonlyremainevacuateduntiltheelectricalenergyforthebrakingequipmentofthepower-drivenvehicleisrestoredandsimultaneouslythebrakingofthetrailerviatheelectriccontrollineisrestored.
42-11.4.1.4Theconnectionofthecompressed-airbrakingsystembetweenpower-drivenvehiclesandtrailersshallbeprovidedaccordingto:
