多媒体技术在小学英语教学中的应用策略研究
Abstract:
Withthedevelopmentofcomputertechnologyandcomputer-aidedteachingactivities,multimediaiswidelyusedinprimaryschoolEnglishteachingforitsuniqueadvantages.Togetherwithteachers,students,teachingobjectives,contentandmethodsofteaching,theyconstituteanewteachingwaywhichintegratedintotheentireeducationsystem.Theapplicationofmultimediateachingreferstotheprocessthatteachersusemultimediaequipmentssuchascomputers,projectorsandotherpre-recordedmultimediacoursewaretocarryouttheirteachingactivities,whichisalsonamedComputer-AssistedInstruction(CAI).
Comparedwithtraditionalteachingmethods,multimediacanincreasetheintuitionoftheteachingandcreatelanguagelearningenvironmentaswellaseffectivelystimulatestudents’interestinlearningtooptimizetheclassroomteaching.However,inthepracticalapplicationofEnglishteachingprocess,therearestillmanyproblemsinunderstanding,designingorapplyingthemultimedia.Itdoesnotachievethedesiredresultbutseriouslyaffectthequalityofclassroomteaching.
Basedontheadvantagesanddisadvantagesofmultimediatechnology,thispapertriestoanalyzethestrategiesofapplyingmultimediatechnologyintheprimaryschoolEnglishteaching.Itisdividedintofourparts.Partoneistheintroductionofthemultimediatechnology.Inparttwo,itpresentstheadvantagesofmultimediatechnologyinstimulatingstudents’interest,optimizingclassroomteaching,creatingthelearningsituationaswellastheaspectsofdust-freeteaching.PartthreedescribestheexistingproblemsofmultimediatechnologyinpracticalprimaryschoolEnglishteaching.Partfouristhemainbodyofthepaper.ItwillanalyzethestrategiesofapplyingmultimediafromfouraspectsinprimaryschoolEnglishteaching:
effectsofteachingaspects,thecharacteristicsofstudentsandtextbook,theexpansionofteachingresourcesaswellastheeffectivenessofinstructionaldesign.ItissupposedtobehelpfultoprimaryEnglishteachersandtoultimatelyenhancethequalityoftheprimaryschoolEnglishteaching.

摘要:
随着计算机技术的发展和计算机辅助教学活动的持续深入,多媒体以其独特的优点广泛应用于小学英语教学当中,并且融入整个教学系统,与老师,学生,教学目标,教学内容和方法一道构成新的教学活动方式。
多媒体教学是指老师使用多媒体设备如计算机,投影仪等并借助预先制作的多媒体课件来展开的教学活动过程,它又称为计算机辅助教学。
与传统的教学手段相比,多媒体能增加课堂教学的直观性,创设语言学习环境,有效地激发学生的学习兴趣,优化课堂教学。
但在实际情况使用过程中,很多老师对多媒体教学的理解、设计或使用都还存有着很多误区,不但没有达到预期效果,反而严重影响了课堂教学质量。
根据多媒体技术的利弊特点,本论文详细分析了多媒体技术在小学英语教学中的应用策略。
本论文总共分为四部分。
第一部分是对多媒体技术的介绍。
第二部分结合多媒体的一些优点介绍了它在激发学生兴趣,优化课堂教学,创设教学情境,清洁无尘方面的优势。
第三部分叙述了多媒体在小学英语教学实际情况中存有的问题。
第四部分是本篇文章的主体。
它将从教学定位的准确性,学生及教科书的特点,教学资源的拓展性以及教学设计的实效性四个方面论述多媒体在小学英语教学中应用。
希望给从事小学英语教学的老师提供一些协助,从而持续提升小学英语教学的质量。

Introduction
Multimediateachingreferstotheprocessthatteachersusemultimediaequipmentssuchascomputers,projectorsandotherpre-recordedmultimediacoursewaretocarryouttheirteachingactivities,whichisalsonamedComputer-AssistedInstruction.InthemodernInformationsociety,multimediaandnetworktechnologyarewidelyusedinthefieldofteachingbecauseoftherapiddevelopmentofhightechnology.Thetraditionalforced-feedingmodelofteachingthatteachersarealwaystalkingwhilestudentslistening,aswellasteacherscontinuetowritesomethingwhilestudentscopyseemstobeoutofdate.Multimediacanprovidepictures,text,sounds,andotherinformationastocreatearealisticaudio-visualillustrationandalsoofferstudentswithanewenvironmenttounderstandandgraspwhattheyhavelearned.AddedwiththephysicalandmentalcharacteristicsoftheprimaryschoolstudentstogetherwiththenewrequirementsofthecurriculumstandardsforEnglishteaching,multimediamakesthereproductionofthecolorfulclassroomteachingEnglishscenecometrue,whichlettheclassroomclosetolifeandmakelifereintegratetheclasstocreateteachingenvironmentandoptimizetheteachingeffects.Multimediawithaseriesofcharacteristicsadaptedtotherequirementsofmodernteachingwhichcanchangethesituationoftimeandspace,developstudents’interestandimprovetheclassroomefficiency.Despiteofsomanyadvantages,itisonlyasupportingtoolinprimaryschoolEnglishteaching.Itcanonlyhelpstudentsbetterunderstandandmastertheteachingmaterials,butcannotreplaceteachers’leadingroleoftheclassroom,letalonetothetext.Currently,therearesomeproblemsformanyEnglishteacherstounderstandandusethiskindofteachingmethod.Inviewoftheproblemsthatlieintheapplicationofmultimedia,thispapertriestogivesomesuggestionstotheseprimaryschoolteacherswhoareusingmultimediaintheirteaching.ItishopedtogivethemalittlehelpandtoultimatelyenhancethequalityoftheprimaryschoolEnglishteaching.
1.IntroductionofMultimediaTechnology
Multimediaisaconventionalterminthefieldofcomputertechnology.Itmeansthetext,graphics,soundandvideoimagesandothervarietyinformationsymbolsaswellasthefunctionofprocessingandpresentingtheinformation.MultimediaTechnologyreferstodealingwithmultimediausingcomputerandtoestablishingthelogicallinksbyvariousmediatechnologies.Itisacombinationoftheinformationcommunicationtechnology,informationprocessingtechnologyandinformationstoragetechnology.UsuallyweregardthesevarioustypesofcomputerapplicationsinthefieldofeducationasComputer-BasedEducation,itisoftenshortforCBE.WhiletheComputer-AssistedInstruction,referredtoCAI,isanimportantcomputerapplicationintheeducationfield(Zhou&Yang,2001:
14).WiththedevelopmentofcomputertechnologyandthedepthoftheComputer-Assistedteachingactivities,multimediacomputersarenotonlyasaformofinformationtechnologyortoolsexistinginEnglishteaching,butalsointegratingintotheentireeducationsystem.Italsoconstitutesanewteachingmethodtogetherwithteachers,students,teachingobjectives,contentandwaysofteaching.Therefore,theuseofmultimediateachingusuallyreferstoakindofprocessthatteacherusemultimediaequipmentssuchascomputers,projectorsandotherpre-recordedmultimediacoursewaretocarryouttheirteachingactivities.ItalsocalledComputer-AssistedInstruction(CAI)(Yuan,2005:
45).Comparedwithforeigncountries,China'sresearchandapplicationintheCAIstartedlate.In1985,Chinaheldthefirstcomputer-assistededucationandacademicexchange.In1986,theStateEducationCommissionsetupanorganizationcalled“nationalprimaryandsecondaryschoolcomputereducationresearchcenter”.Itismainlyresponsiblefortheapplication,research,evaluationandpromotionofthedevelopmentofCAI,whichhadalsoplayedagreatroleinpromotingthedevelopmentofCAI(Zhou&Yang,2001:
3).Withthedeepeningofeducationreforminourcountry,CAIhadachievedalotinvariouseducationalsectorsinourstudyandtheapplicationandpopularizationofthework.
2.TheAdvantagesofApplyingMultimediainPrimarySchoolEnglishTeaching
2.1Enrichingvisualrepresentationtostimulateinterestinspeech
Itisessentialtocultivatestudents’interestinEnglishteaching.Multimediacoursewarewhichsetsounds,images,animation,charactersintoone,cancombinevision,hearingandotheraspectstogethertomakeclassroomteachingmorevisual,livelyandinteresting.Italsogivesstudentsasenseoftheimmersionsothattheyaremoreinterestedinit(Su,2004:
43).Furthermore,childrenarealwayslively,curiousandreceptivetonewthings.Elegantandpleasantmusic,vibrantcolorsandbeautifulgorgeouspicturecanattracttheattentionofstudentssothattheyareenjoyingwhattheywilllearn,andthusincreasetheirinterestinlearningEnglish.Italsostimulatestheirpassionstosee,hear,anddootheractivitiesintheclassandacceptnewknowledgeeasily.Forexample:

Multimediateachinghelpsstudentstoobserve,think,memorize,andpromotestudent’sabilitytotheunderstandingofknowledgeofEnglishandintellectualdevelopment.Usingmultimediatechnologytoshowtheteachingcontentisindependentoftimeandspaceconstraints,whichcanalsomakethecontentandobjectthatstudentswilllearnmuchvivid,concreteandareeasytoperceiveandunderstand(Wang,2005:
