TurnerwasinfluencedatfirstbyRembrandtandlaterbyClaude.Hebegantousebrightcoloursinhispaintings,especiallytheredsandorangesforwhichheisknown,afterabout1820.SomeofhismostfamouspaintingsareChildeHarold'sPilgrimage,UlyssesDeridingPolyphemus,BayofBaiae,andViewofOrvieto.
