Conceived(构思)byCherniak,thesepoemsaimtobringpoetrytopassengers,andshowawiderangeofstyles.Theyareclassicalorcontemporary,domesticorinternational.
Loveorhatepoetry,thisproject“hasprovedtobeanexcellentwayofintroducingpoetry,withpassengersoftenwantingtoreadmore,”accordingtothegovernmentorganizationTransportforLondon.“ThishasledtothepublicationofaseriesofPoemsontheUndergroundbooks,whichisnowinits11thedition.”
Thisneweditioncontainspoemsthathavebeendisplayedincarriagesovertheyears.Thepoemsareclassifiedintosectionssuchaslove,music,nature,war,andloss.
