butwithallthemaliciouscharactersinthestory,aheroicandpurepersonawasneededtoensureahappyending,withhonestyandgreatwealthashisprimequalities,heassistsOliverinhistimesofneedanddemonstratestosocietywithanexemplarytouch,theattributesofaperfectcitizen.Asthepositiveextremeinbothsocialstatusandbenevolence,Mr.Brownlowisadefiniteaidinthedevelopmentofthethemethroughoutthenovel
