ComparisionofeducationinChinaandAmerica
WhenwecomparewithAmericaandChina,wewillfindthattherearesomanydifferencesbetweenthistwocountries,andhereImainlytalkabouttheirdifferenceineducation.Throughoutallkindsofpointsamongtheirdifferences,wecansumuptosixaspests.
First,AmericanEducationtellsstudentsthatstudyisjusttostudyforthemselvesforthepurposeofmakingthemstudywithoutstressfromtheirparentsandsocietyandlettingthemtothink,tolearnabouttheywant,whichmakesAmericanstudentslearnflexiblyandactively.WithregardtoChinaEducation,italwaysmakessomecomplexregulationsforstudentstotellthemlearnwhatshouldbelearned,howtolearnandevenwhentheyshouldlearn.Asaresult,studentsinChinaregardstudyasonekindoftask,andgetusedtodealingwiththehomeworkpassively.
Second,asfortheaspectaboutthepurposeofeducation,AmericaEducationattachsalittleimportancetothestudyonbasicknowledgebutthinkshighlyofthecultivationofcreativity,whileinChina,educationpaysmoreattentiontothebasicknowledgeandignoresthecultivationofstudents’creativityandthinkingability.Therefore,inAmericastudentswhogetlowgradestendtohavehighabilitywhileinChinastudentswhogethighgradesdon’thaveenoughabilitytoadapttothedevelopmentofsociety.
Third,concerningtheconditioninclassbetweenChinaandAmerica,wecandrawaconclusionthattheclassinChinapaysattentiontodiscplinewhiletheclassinAmericapaysattentiontohumansright.Ontheonehand,ChinaEducationisgoodatgivingaconclusiontostudentsandchinsesteacherswilltrytheirbesttohelpstudentswithsolvingalltheproblemsputforwardfromstudents.ButinAmerica’class,teachersareusedtogivingstudentssomespirationtomakethemthinkmoreandmoreproblemsbythemselves.Ontheotherhand,inchineseclass,ifstudentsdisagreewithteachers’opinions,theywillbecritizedbyteachers,butinAmerica’classstudentswillbepraisediftheyputforwardnewviewswhicharedifferntfromtheirteachers’.
Fourth,IthinkitisthemostimportantaspectwhichcanbasicallypointouttherootdifferencebetweenChinaEdcationandAmericaEdcation.Itisaboutthedifferenceintheexamination.USAexaminationoftenoffersanopenenvironmenttostudentstofinishtheirexamsolongastheyhandintheiranswerpaperwithinthelimitingtime.ButinChina,whenfacedwithanexam,chinesestudentsalwaysfeelnervousasiftherearebeastsinfrontofthem.AndinChinathepurposeofexaminationisjusttotestoutstudents’abilitywhileAmericantestaimstofindtheproblem,itsexistinggapsinordertofacilitatedevelopment.
Fifth,aboutthedifferenceonestablishmentsofcurriculaandspecialty,Americaneducationaimsatadaptingforsocietydemand,theyexplicitlystipulatethreebigfunctions:
ducation’servicefortheestablishmentofspecialtycurriculumistomeetthesocialneedandsetupspecialcurriculumorspecialtywhichthesocietyneeds.InChina’suniversities,duringquitelongperiodoftime,theestablishmentofspecialtycurriculumlacksthechangeandcouldnotfollowsocialdemand.Inthelatestfewyears,themajorityofChineseuniversitiesallstartedtopayattentiotothetransformationandrenewalofspecialtycurriculumsoastomeettheneedofsociety.
Last,ingeneral,thechinesechildrenarenotallowedtotakepartintherealsocialactivitiesbutinAmericathestudentscantakepartineveryactivitytheywant;thatistosay,Americanstudentscanchooseactivitiestoparticipateinbythemseleves.ItissaidthatthechildreninAmericastarttotakepartintherealactivityoncetheyleavetoschool.Forexample,an8-year-oldboycanhelpotherwithwashingclothesbywhichtheycanreceiveatleast8dollars.Also,thosechildrencanplaysomemusicalinstrumentsfortherichtoearnsomemoneywhichtheyusuallyusetoholdsomeactivities.Allinall,inAmerica,childrenhaveallkindsofchancestocontactwithsocialenvironment.Fromthepointoftheirview,theythinkeducationisequaltothelife.Butonthecontrary,whatchinesestudentsonlydoistoburythemselvesintostudy,whichresultsintheirshortageofoutdoorabilityevencreativitytoadaptthedevelopmentofsocietyinfuture.
Throughthesekindsofcomparison,maybewecanmakesenseofthereasonswhyAmericabecomessostrong.Apowerofacountrynotonlyliesinitseconomybutalsoitseducation.Thatistosay,educationisanimportantmeantocreatmoreandmoreexcellentpeopletomakethemdevotetheirpowertostrengthenthecountry.Bycomparing,wehavetoadmitthattherehavebeenmanyimperfectionsinoursystemofeducation.Ourcountryneedsimprovementandthedevelopmentandoureconomyneedstalentpeople,sowecandrawaconclusionthroughcomparisonthatitishightimeforourc
