①我至今还不知道水浮莲的学名是什么。
我也没有去查过,我觉得那些都没有意义。

水浮莲这个名字就是这样。
②母亲常跟我说,水浮莲是一种贱命。
你不需要像庄稼那样给它施肥,给它锄草,你只
是任由它长,任由它漂,只要有水,它就能长得满河都是,仿佛那是它一个人温暖的床,然
后在这温暖的床上蔓延出一年四季青葱和嫩绿的美好心情。
水浮莲就是这样一副随遇而安的
样子。
它只是自然地生长着,它的生长是最接近生活本质的,它只有一个想法,生出来,便
活下去,便长起来。
③然而正是这样贱的一种植物,却最适合在乡村的水面上生长,只有乡村,才有那么多
流动着的水。
在我很小的时候,这些植物都一撮撮地绿在小河里,绿在水田里。

梧桐树
①寓楼的窗前有好几株梧桐树。
这些都是邻家院子里的东西,但在形式上是我所有的。
因为它们和我隔着适当的距离,好像是专门种给我看的。
它们的主人,对于它们的局部状态
也许比我看得清楚;
但是对于它们的全体容貌恐怕始终没看清楚呢。

那猪耳朵
一般的东西,重重叠叠地挂着,一直从低枝上挂到树顶。
窗前摆了几枝梧桐,我觉得绿意实
在太多了。
古人说“芭蕉分绿上窗纱”,眼光未免太低,只是阶前窗下的所见而已。

眺望,芭蕉便落在眼底,应见“梧桐分绿上窗纱”了。
④一个月以来,我又眼看见梧桐叶落的光景。
样子真凄惨呢!
最初绿色黑暗起来,变成
墨绿;
后来又由墨绿转成焦黄;
北风一起,它们大惊小怪地闹将起来,大大的黄叶子便开始
辞枝——起初突然地落脱一两张来,后来成群地飞下一大批来,好像谁从高楼上丢下来的东
西,枝头渐渐地虚空了,露出树后面的房屋来,终于只剩下几根枝头,回复了春初的面目。
