摘要
《红字》是十九世纪美国著名的浪漫主义小说家纳撒尼尔•霍桑的代表作,发表于1850年。
《红字》讲述了发生在北美殖民时期的恋爱悲剧。
许多国内外的专家学者对其进行了进一步的研究分析,包括反映当时的社会现象,分析人物形象以及所要展现的压迫下的反叛精神,都对文学史有着重要的影响。
这部小说虽然有三个主要人物,但是女主人公的描写所占比例较大,应该是第一主线,主要是突出妇女争取自身权利与当时社会的压迫作斗争这一矛盾点,因此,分析好海丝特·
白兰品质对理解这部小说的意义至关重要。
通过对女主人公海丝特·
白兰品质的分析,能够了解人物的内心和可贵精神,并从女性角度理解作者的女性观和社会观,展现出当时社会压迫下女性的反叛、坚忍和善良,体现女性意识以及社会压迫下的妇女以自己的方式和力量去争取女性的权利,也可以从海丝特·
白兰这一与众不同、敢于斗争的女性形象中看出作者霍桑独特的女性观。

saboutlovetragedyintheAmericancolonialperiod.
Manyexpertsandscholarsathomeandabroadhavecarriedoutafurtherresearchonitincludingreflectingthesocialphenomenonofthetime,analyzingthecharactersandthespiritunderoppression-allhaveanimportantinfluenceonthehistoryofliterature.
Althoughtherearethreemaincharactersinthisnovel,thedescriptionoftheheroineismore,soitshouldbethefirstthreadofthenovelwhichfocusesonthecontradictionbetweenwomen’fightfortheirrightsandthesocialoppression.Therefore,theanalysisofHesterPrynne'
squalityiscrucialtounderstandthemeaningofthenovel.ThroughtheanalysisoftheheroineHesterPrynne’squality,wecanknowthecharacter’sinnerheartandvaluablespirit,understandtheauthor'
