3.0DESIGNBASIS
Vendorshallsupplythedesigndataforapproval.
4.0MECHANICALREQUIREMENTS
4.1.CodesandStandards
4.1.1.Allelectricalcomponentsshallbesuitableforinstallationinanon-hazardousarea.
4.1.2.PipingshallconformtoANSIB31.3-PressurePipingCode,orJISequivalentstandard.Butpipesizeof1-1/4,2-1/2,3-1/2,5,7,9inchesandprimaryservicepressurerating400lbshallbeavoided.
4.1.3.ReceivershallbedesignedandconstructionperCNSPressureVesselCodesfromB5084toB5099(ExceptB5096).
4.1.4.ASMESectionIX,WeldingQualifications
4.1.5.ASTMPTC9-1970,PerformanceTestCodeforCompressor
4.1.6.Referencetoanystandardorcodeshallmeanthelatesteditionofthatstandardorcodeincludingaddendaorsupplements.
4.2.AirCompressor
4.2.1.Compressor,dryer,driverandallcomponentsshallbesuitableforcontinuousfullloaddutyunderthespecifiedoperatingconditions.Allpartsofcompressor,dryeranddrivenequipmentshallbesafeforoperationatthemaximumloadandtorquecapabilityofthedriver.Equipmentwhichmustoperateatitsdesignlimitinordertomeetthespecificationisnotacceptable.
4.2.2.IntakeAirFilter:
DryType.
4.2.3.Crankcase
Thecrankcaseofeachcompressorshallbedesignedforruggedapplication.Theoilreservoirwithoillevelindicatorshallbesealedcompletely.
4.2.4.Cylinderhead
A.Thecylinderheadshallbefine-grainedandhonedforsmoothrunning.
B.Theintegralcoolingwatershallbethroughoutthecylinderandcylinderheadtoensurethemaximumcoolingeffect.
4.2.5.Connectingrod
Theconnectingrodshallbeadequateinsizeandstrengthtowithstandsafelyandcontinuouslyallthestressesfromstartingandoperatingconditions.
4.2.6.Crankshaft
A.Thecrankshaftintegralwithcounterweightshallbecarefullycalculatedcounterweightsneutralize,theinertiaofthereciprocatingpartstoholdsmoothlylong-termrunning.
B.Theshaftsshallberifle-drilledtoprovideforcefeedlubricationtothecrankpinsandperfectseatingwithbearings.
4.2.7.Piston
Thepistonshallbeselectedforperfectdynamicbalanceandfittedwiththeadequatecompressionringsandoilringtoprovideefficientoperationandbetteroilcontrol.
4.2.8.Valve
A.Thesuctionanddischargevalvesshallbedesignedwithlargevalveblowarea,lowliftmakelowvalvetemperatureandhighvalveefficiency.
B.Valvediscsandspringsshallbefullyinterchangeable.
4.2.9.ControlPanel
A.Controlshallbeprovidedtoallowaircompressorloadandunload(withoutshutdown)automaticallyastheairpressureintheairreceiverbelowthelowsetpointorabovethehighsetpoint.Setpointpressureshallbefield-adjustable.
B.Amaincircuitbreakerandafullvoltagemotorstarterwithcontroltransformershallbeprovidedformotoroperationandsystemcontrol.
C.Whenoneaircompressorisoutoforder,thestand-byunitshallbeabletostartautomatically.
4.2.10.Motor
MotorshallbeTEFCenclosure,insulationclassBandshallbefurnishedinaccordancewithSpecificationforInductionMotor.
4.3.AirReceiver
4.3.1.TheairreceivershallbestampedbyTaiwanProvincialIndustryandMiningInspectionOffice.
4.3.2.Pressuregauge,safetyreliefvalve,drainsvalve,temperaturegauge,auto-drain-trapandnecessaryaccessoriesshallbefurnishedonreceiverbyVendor.
4.4.AirDryer
4.4.1.Type:
Refrigeratedtypewithaircooledcondenser.
4.4.2.Inletairtemperaturegauge,auto-drain-trap,thermostaticexpansionvalve,hotgasbypassvalve,refrigerantfilter-dryer,suctionpressuregauge,dischargeairpressuregauge,on/offswitchwithlights,highoutletairtemperaturegauge(orwithlight)andothernecessaryaccessoriesshallbefurnished.
4.4.3.Totaldryerpressuredropshallnotexceed0.35kg/sq.cm.
4.4.4.Amountedandpre-wiredfullvoltagestartershallbeprovidedtoprotectthecompressormotorfromovercurrentorasystemfailure.
4.5.Noise
Thenoisegeneratedbytherotarymachineshallnotexceed85dBAat1meterawayfromthemachine.Vendorshallverifythenoiseleveloftheproposedrotarymachinewithpublisheddocuments,andthenoisedatashallbeacquiredandrecordedduringmachinemechanicalandperformancetest.Iftheanticipatednoiseleveloftheproposedmachineexceeds85dBAat1meter,vendorshallfurnishwithinhisscopeofthesupplylikethenoisereductionequipmentsuchasacoustichoodorblanketetc.toreducethenoiselevelbelow85dBAat1meter.
4.6.Asbestosmaterialandleadmaterialshallnotbeusedontheaircompressorunit.
4.7.Type:
AirCoolingType.
4.8.Capacity:
At10kg/cm2outletpressure,eachaircompressorshallhavetheratedcapacityof450lpmatleastortwicethecalculatedrequiredcapacitywhicheverishigher.
4.9.Pressureateverypoint:
Canreach5kg/cm2atleast(Thebiddershallsubmitthecalculationtoensurethecapacitycanmeettherequirementafterdeductingthetransportationpressurelossfromtheoutletpressure10kg/cm2).Thebiddershalladjusttheregulatorsuntiltheworkingpressurecanmeetthesiterequirement.
4.10.CapacityofAirReceiver(Airstoragetank):
150litersatleast.
4.11.PowerSupply:
220VAC,3Phase,60HZ.
4.12.Afterthetreatmentofaircompressor,airdryerandairfilterforeffectshallmeetMaximum0.01MicronParticleSize,Below5℃at7kg/cm2DewPoint:

6.0NAMEPLATE
Thefollowingdatashallbestampedinastainlesssteelnameplatepermanentlyattachedtothecompressorwithfasteners.
6.1.Manufacturer’sname.
6.2.Manufacturer’smodelnumberandserialnumber.

6.5.Maximumallowableworkingpressure.

7.0PREPARATIONFORSHIPMENT
7.1.Uponcompletionofallinspectionandtestingandbeforetheshipment,allpartsshallbecoatedinaccordancewithmanufacturer’sstandard,butwithoutcontaininganyingredient.Surfacesshallbecleanedthoroughlyandpaintedasanormalforonelayerofprimerandtwolayersoffinish-paint.
7.2.Theequipmentshallbethoroughlycleaned,freefromgrease,scale,rustandrubble.
7.3.Allexteriorpartsofthecompressorexceptfinishedmachinepartsshallbepaintedpermanufacturer’sstandard.
7.4.Machinedsurfacesshallbesuitablyprotectedfromrustanddamageduringshipment,handlingandstorage.Threadedconnectionsshallhavethreadprotectors,beveledendsofpipesshallbecapped,andflangesshallbefullfacecoveredwithsteelorplywood,boltedinplace.
7.5.Vendorshallbesolelyresponsibleforpreventingdamageduringshipment.
8.0OTHER
8.1.Thebiddershallsubmitthefollowingdocumentsforapproval.
8.1.1.Originaldetailcataloguesandperformancecurveoftheequipmentselected.
8.1.2.Filleddatasheetsoftheaircompressorandthemotor.
8.1.3.SparePartsDescription.
8.2.Thesuccessfulbiddershallsubmitthecalculationofthecapacitythatcanmeetthedemandandthepressureof5kg/cm2asaminimumateverypointwhenatoutletpressure10kg/cm2forapproval.
Thesuccessfulbiddershallsubmitthemanufacturertestreport,inspectioncertificateofthepressurevessel(airreceiver),togetherwiththeoperation,maintenanceandinstallationmanualsinbo
