教学内容
一、命题方式及解题技巧
A.推理判断题
既要求考生透过文章表面文字信息推测文章隐含意思,又要求考生对作者的态度、意图及文章细节的发展作正确的推理判断,力求从作者的角度去考虑,不要固守自己的看法或观点。
这类试题常以如下句式提问:
Whatcanyouconclude(下结论)fromthispassage?
What'stheauthor'sattitude(态度)towards…?
Whichstatementis(not)true?
Whatcanyouinferfromthepassage?
推断题出题陷阱:
Ø文章中没有提及,纯属主观臆断。
Ø是文章中的直接内容,不是根据推理得出的。
Ø符合常识,但是不是文章所要表达的内容。
与文章内容相反。
解题技巧:
做这类题要求考生在阅读的同时.抓住文章的主题和细节,分析文章结构,根据上下文内在联系,挖掘文章的深层含义。
其次,对于暗含在文章中的人物的行为动机、事件中的因果关系及作者未言明的倾向、意图、态度、观点等要进行合乎逻辑的判断、推理、分析,进一步加强理解,抓住实质性的东西。
如:

A,Angry.BRegretful.C.Bad.D.Surprised.
简析:
这是一个推理判断题,它要求学生对文章进行仔细分析,才能作出合理判断。
仔细看完文章后知道文中的stranger拿了60美元换回了一个装满破布的包裹。
当他看到这些破布时,他马上意识到他没有骗到“乡下人”的钱,反而被“乡下人”骗了,他那时一定非常生气,对自己的行为感到后悔,如选B,那么没有理解文章的意思。
如选C或D,虽然也略微表达了一点stranger的心理状态,但毕竟没有A那么贴切。
B.词义猜测
常见的提问方式有这几种:
✧Whatdoestheunderlinedwordmean?
✧Thewordprobablymeans
✧Theunderlinedwordcanbereplaced(代替)by…
解题技巧:
◆根据逻辑关系推测词义
在文中的逻辑关系往往有:
因果关系、类比关系、转折对比关系等。
那么在定位好猜测的词后,需要寻找上下文中是否含有一定的逻辑关系,因此要特别注意一些关键词:
so,because,but,however,unlike,evenif,and,also,instead等。
例1:
Butbecarefulifyou'reshortoftime,Newcastleisabigplace.Soyoushouldbepreparedtokillafewhoursononeofthesebuses.
批注:
根据上下文以及连词“so”,我们可以推断出两句话是因果关系,因为Newcastle是一个大的地方,所以准备好公交车上会花很多时间。
因此这里的“kill”不是杀死的意思,而是“spend”度过的意思。
例2:
Thegovernmenthastakenactiontodealwithtrafficjams,butthestreetsarestillpackedwithcarsandtrucks.
批注:
这里的“packed”的意思根据上下文是转折的关系,虽然政府已经采取措施来解决交通拥堵,但是街上还是挤满了车辆。
因此这里的“packed”相当于“crowded”
◆根据定义来猜测词义:
在文章中,往往有时候,作者会用一个短语或者一个从句来解释陌生的词,因此我们根据作者给出的定义或实例来猜测词的含义。
我们应当特别注意这些词:
forexample,like,suchas,inotherwords等,以及定语从句。
比如我们来看这样一个例子:
例1:
ThescenesyouseefromthetouristtrainarefilmsetsintheUniversalStudios,oneoftheoldestandlargestmoviecompaniesintheUSA.
批注:
句中的“theUniversalStudios”其实不难理解,因为后面补充说到它是一个美国年代最久远的,最大的电影公司。
例2:
Doctorsandotherscientistswhostudythehumanmindandhumanemotionsandbehaviour(行为),arecalledpsychologists.
批注:
句中最后一个词“psychologist”的含义,根据前面的从句,我们可以知道他们是研究人们的思想以及人类的感情和行为的。
所以这样的人,我们叫做“心理学家”。
例3:
Johnisverylazy,unlikehisbrotherwhoisverydiligentandworksveryhard.
批注:
本句中有一个重要的词“unlike”表示对比,John很懒,不像他的兄弟,那么言下之意就是他的兄弟很勤奋。
所以“diligent”的意思就是努力的,勤奋的。
◆根据上下文推测词义
例1:
Atfirst,peoplewereafraidofeatingtomatoesbecausetheybelongtoafamilyofpoisonousplants.Oneday,abravemanatethefirsttomato.Peopleweresurprisedthathedidn'tdie.
批注:
根据文章的意思,人们害怕西红柿,而且当一个人吃了第一个西红柿后,人们会惊讶他居然没有死。
因此我们可以认为“poisonous”解释对健康有害的,会使人们丧生的。
其实也就是有毒的意思。
例2:
PerhapstheonlytestscorethatIrememberisthe55whenIwasinhighschool.?

一.推断题题型分析

1.运用文段所叙述或描绘的事件背景提供的信息进行推理判断
第1道题要求读者判断"妈妈"从一间小房间拿拖把的真正意图是什么。
应该说除了D选项与文段的信息完全无关外,其它三个选项相互间都有一定的干扰性,但只要我们注意到文段所叙述的事件的背景是在一家医院,再结合文段末尾作者与母亲之间的对话,就不难判断该题的正确答案是C选项。
因为就常识而言,人们去医院的目的不外乎两个:
1.就诊;2.探视病人。
A选项展现的只是一种表面现象,不是"妈妈"拿拖把的"真正"目的;而"妈妈"去小房间拿拖把时是"轻轻地"走过去的,显然,也不是为了"取悦"护士,所以A、B两个选项都不符合文意。
2.运用已有的经验、经历或常识进行推理判断
上文的第2道题要求读者判断所给的四个选项中那一个符合医院的实际情况。
由于文段中没有相关的信息支持A选项,因此,可以排除;C、D两个选项与文段最后一段中"妈妈"说的"It'safinehospital"有矛盾,因此,也可以排除。
文段的第一句提到"Wewalkedinsoquietlythatthenurseatthedeskdidn'tevenlifthereyesfromthebook"。
根据常识我们知道,人们"轻轻地走"的原因无非存在两种可能性:
1.保持安静;2.避免被发现。
联系到"妈妈"是冒充清洁工进入病房的,探视"Dagmar"时又提起"hospitalrules",因此可以断定"我们如此轻轻地走进去"的目的不是为了"保持安静",而是"避免"被护士发现,从而可以进一步推断出"避免"被护士发现的原因是因为医院对探视病人的时间有严格规定,所以B选项是正确的。
3.紧扣主题或话题,避免掉入细节事实的陷阱
有些题目要求读者根据文段的相关信息对文中人物的性格、心理状况、心智或品质作出判断,这时一定要扣紧文段的主题或话题,不要受一些细节事实的干扰。
例如,上文的第3题实际上是要读者判断"妈妈"是一个什么样的人。
A、B两个选项与文段提供的信息没有任何联系,可以排除。
从文段中描绘的"妈妈"拿起拖把为医院拖地这一细节事实来看,似乎可以用warm-hearted这个词来形容她的品质。
但是,只要记住文段主要叙述的是"‘妈妈'是如何在规定探望病人的时间之外进入病房探望Dagmar这一话题,就不难判断"妈妈"拿拖把拖地的最终目的是什么,从而进一步得出结论:
只有用clever这个词描绘"妈妈"才最合适。
4.注意文段中信息的科学性,运用已有的科学常识和学科知识进行推理判断
例2:
Ourchoir(合唱队)sanginachurchyesterday.Youshouldhaveheardhowbeautifulourvoiceswere!

批注:
首先,应当告诉学生做题时需要知道题干的要求是什么;其次,我们应该返回原文,将选项与文章一一对比,作出合理的推断。
同时,在涉及到作者态度的问题时,也要理解文章的中心思想和作者的观点。
让学生自己划出关键的句子,根据题干和选项我们知道此题问的是Anna和她的合唱团成员在一起时的心情,属于事实判断题。
这类题目需要返回原文,找到相关的细节,然后进行判断。
根据文章中的关键信息:
amazingexperience我们可以推断出,Anna和她的伙伴们在一起时,一定很快乐。
所以应该选B

在讲解过程中,应当指导学生在文章依次找出依据,并且指出,这是出题的何种陷阱,让学生对出题方式有更深入的了解。
A选项是与原文不符,B选项是文章未提及,C选项是正确的,D选项是与文章不符。
