摘要
伊恩·麦克尤恩是英国当代最负盛名且最具影响力的作家之一。
自上世纪70年代踏入文坛,麦克尤恩笔耕不断,佳作迭出。
他先后四次获得布克奖提名,并最终于1998年以《阿姆斯特丹》折桂。
其代表作《赎罪》(Atonement)自2001年出版问世以来,广受好评,赢得了包括美国国家书评奖在内的多项殊荣。
它不仅成为麦克尤恩最受欢迎的小说,而且被评为近年来最畅销最成功的小说之一。
青少年经常以主人公身份出现在麦克尤恩的小说中,并且青少年的成长也是麦克尤恩作品关注的焦点。
麦克尤恩的第九部小说《赎罪》讲述了一个13岁的小女孩如何通过赎罪而步入成熟的故事。

因此,本文将运用成长小说理论来研究《赎罪》这部作品,使得对这部作品的研究有了新的探索。

Abstract
IanMcEwanisoneofthemostprestigiousandinfluentialwritersoftheBritishcontemporary.Sincethe1970sintotheliteraryworld,MikeYouanpenfarmingconstantly,masterpieceagainandagain.HehasfourtimeswontheBookernomination,andfinallyin1998to"Amsterdam"GuiGui.Itsrepresentative"Atonement"(Atonement)sincethepublicationoftheyearsince2001,widelyacclaimed,includingtheUnitedStateswontheNationalBookReviewAward,includinganumberofawards.IthasnotonlybecomeoneofthemostpopularnovelsofMcEwan,buthasbeennamedoneofthebest-sellingnovelsinrecentyears.
AdolescentsoftenappearinthenovelasaherointhestoryofMcEwan,andthegrowthofyoungpeopleisalsothefocusoftheworkofMcEwan.McEwan'sninthnovel,Atonement,tellshowa13-year-oldgirlgoesintoamaturestorythroughatonement.Manyliterarycriticshaveanalyzedthenovel"atonement"fromthedifferentperspectivesofsubject,content,charactersandnarrativetechniques.Butanoverviewoftheseresearchresults,sofarhasnotfromthegrowthofthisuniqueperspectiveontheheroineintheworksystem,in-depthstudy.Therefore,thisarticlewillusethetheoryofgrowingfictiontostudythe"atonement"ofthiswork,makingthestudyofthisworkhasanewexploration.

AsoneoftheoutstandingBritishnovelists,IanMcEwan(1948)in1975byvirtueofshortstories"initialloveandthefinalceremony"intheBritishliteraryworldcutastrikingfigure.In2001,MikeYouanpublishedthenovel"Atonement".Thisnovelnotonlywonthecriticsofthewidelyrecognized,butalsowonthefavorofmanyordinaryreaders.Toachievesucharesult,IanMcEwanhashisownunique.Thepurposeofthispaperistoexploretheinteractionbetweentheauthorandthereaderinthefamousnovel"Atonement"ofMcEwan,withthehelpofJamesFellen'stheoryofnarrativejudgmentandthenarrativetechniqueofmulti-perspectivenarrativeToanalyze.

IanMcEwan'sworkshavebeeningreatgracesofthecriticssincetheverypublicationofhisfirststorycollectionFirstLove,LastRite.Afteralmosttwenty-yearssystematicalstudy,BritishscholarshavegainedextraordinaryprogressinthestudiesofIanMcEwanhimselfandallhisworld-astonishingworks.Atonement,publishedin2001,isregardedasthemostprominentandsuccessfulnovelintheliteraturetimeofIanMcEwan.Therefore,abundantandexhaustivestudiesandresearcheshavebeenlaunchedbymanyeminentliterarycritics,scholarsandbookreviewersinthelightofdifferentmethodologiesonvarioussubjects.Allthingsconsidered,it'smorehelpfulforustounderstandtheresearchesthathavebeendoneonAtonementfromthefollowingfouraspects,namelythematicstudy,theoreticalstudy,stylisticstudyandartisticstudy.
Thematicstudyreferstothosestudieswithrespecttodifferentsubjects,creativemotivesandtopicsinanovel.AtonementisdefinedbyElkeD'Hoker(2006)asaliteraryconfessionalfictionwhichisdistinctfromthereligiousconfessionandheinsiststhatsheeratonementisimpossibletorealizemerelythroughliterarycreation.Whatcanonearthcountsforredemptioninhisviewaretheendeavorandtheprocessofatonement.PeterMathews(2006)holdstheideainTheImpressionofaDeeperDarkness:

Comparedwiththeabroadstudies,IanMcEwan'sworkswerewarmlysoughtafterbyreadersandliterarycriticsinChinaowingtotheabundantemergenceoftranslationanddisseminationofhisgreatworks.ScholarsathomestartedthepreliminarystudiesonIanMcEwanhimselfandAtonementinthelate1990sandthenpervasiveresearchesonhisliterarycreationwerecarriedoutincreasingly.Apartfromtheconventionalthematicexploration,Chinesescholarsexpoundelaboratelyonmanyotherresearchorientationswithmultiplecriticalapproachestoliteratureforthemoredetailedstudies.ThestudiesonAtonementathomecanbedividedintothefollowingfouraspects:
FirstistheoverallintroductionandsummarizationtoIanMcEwanandhisliterarycreationbeganwithLanChun's(1998)generalintroductiontohisliterarycreationandearlyworksinanarticleIanMcEwanandHisWorks.AndthenZhouZhipeng(2006)presentsthemainplotandlittleliteraturereviewonAtonementinhisarticleIanMcEwan'sAtonement.
Thenitcomestothethematicstudieswhichsproutintheearlyperiod,suchasthethemeofcrimeandatonementinprofessorDingJianning's(2004)articleHowCanAtonementbePossibleAReviewonlanMcEwan'sAtonementandinitiationthemeappearedinCaiXiaoyan's(2009)articleGrowingupinAtonementAninterpretationoftheInitiationThemeinIanMcEwan'sAtonement.RuanXiaojing(2010)inhermaster'sthesisanalyzestheimageofBrionyfromtwoperspectives:
BrionyasaFreudianheroineandBrionyasaninitiationstoryheroinerelatively.However,thematicstudiesgenerallyemergedintheoriginalstu即andaregraduallyoverlappedbytheoreticalstudiesortheotherswhichputvariablenarrativetechniquesasthefocusesofstudy.
2Theoreticalbasis
2.1Multi-perspectivenarrative
JamesFellenonceproposedthatthenarrativeofliteraryworksexistsattwolevels:
thenarrativeleveloftheauthorandthereader'sreadinglevel.Thesetwolevelsinthedynamicdevelopmentofmutualinfluence,mutualguidance.Thenarrativeofliteraryworksleadstotwokindsofbehavior:
observationandjudgment.Therefore,thejudgmentisnotonlypresentinthenarrativeleveloftheauthor(ie,thejudgmentoftheauthorandeachcharacter),butalsoatthereader'sreadinglevel(ie,thejudgmentmadebythereaderduringthereadingprocess).Whetheritisthejudgmentoftheauthor'snarrativelevelorthejudgmentofthereader'sreadinglevel,itplaysavitalroleinthereader'sunderstandingoftheliteraryworks.Recognizingthis,theauthorcanusethenarrativeprocessinthenarrativeprocess,suchasmulti-perspectivenarrative,toguidethereadertomakethedesirednarrativejudgment,sothatthefinalnarrativepurposeoftheworkcanbeachieved.

(2)thereaderofthenovelthatimpliedtheauthor.Thus,thereadercanfromthesetwoperspectivesonthenovel"atonement"tounderstandandexplain.
Byanalyzingthecharacteristicsofthemulti-anglenarrativeofthenovel"atonement",theauthorrealizesthatthesameinformationisobservedfromdifferentperspectives,andthequantityandcontentoftheinformationobtainedaredifferent.Inthenovel"Atonement",McEwanistheuseofmulti-anglenarrativeofthiseffect,the"atonement,"theoriginalsimplestoryintoahugeinformationbasebitbybittothereader,andthenguideReadersmakemorecomplexjudgmentsatdifferentstagesofreadingandultimatelyrevealthethemeof"atonement":
therelationshipbetweenrealityandfiction.Therefore,withthecharacteristicsofmulti-anglenarrativeinthenovel,thenarrativejudgmentofthereadertotrackandanalyze,istounderstandthe"atonement"key.
