Airpurification
Theairisthenpurifiedthrough2bedsofaluminaandmolecularsievewherewaterandcarbondioxideareadsorbed.Thedesignofthe2bedsdefinesanoperatingtimeforoneofthe2purificationvesselsR01-R02.Attheendofthisoperatingtimethebedsaresaturatedandmustbereactivated.Theairflowisthenswitchedtothesecondvessel,thebedofwhichhasalreadybeenreactivatedandisreadyforoperation.
Thereactivationisdonebymeansofalowpressurenitrogenflow,heatedthroughtheelectricalreactivationheaterE08.
E08isalsousedforexceptionalregeneration.
Coldproduction
Airflowispreparedfordistillation,beingcooleddownintwocircuits:
1.AllgaseousairfromR01/R02iscompressedbywarmboosterET01С,andiscooledwithintermediateexchangerE01,whereapartofairisliquefiedbycounterflowandsimultaneouslyvaporizesthepumpedliquids;anotherpartofgaseousairisexpandedthroughtheturboexpandersET01andinputcoldbox.
2.Exceptthemaximumruncase,apartofmediumpressureairinputK01flowbacktoE01,thenthewarmedairisexpandedthroughET02andinletE01,helpforliquefyingHPairfromET01C.

Theairseparationisdonebydistillationbymeansof5columns:

E02isalsousedasboilerforLPcolumnK02;theliquidoxygenfeedofthebathcomingfromthebottomofK02,ispartiallyvaporizedtocreatetheupwardsgaseousflowofK02.Thelatentheatofvaporizationoflowpressureoxygenisusedtoliquefythemediumpressuregaseousnitrogen.
WithdrawnliquidoxygenissenttoP03forLOXvaporization(forHPGOXproduction)andLOXproduction.
