ThemodelforAnnabelLeewasprobablyPoe’swife,VirginiaClemm,whomhemarriedwhenshewasonly13.Theirmarriagewasaveryhappyone.Unfortunately,shediedoftuberculosisinJanuary1847whenshewasstillinhertwenties.Poediedtwoyearsandninemonthslater–onOctober7,1849.“AnnabelLee”washislastpoem.
