Firstly,ifcollegestudentscanreceiveasystematiceducationintraditionaletiquetteinclass,theycangetmorepreparedforthefuture.Asisknown,collegestudentsusuallyhavelearntsometraditionaletiquettethroughdailyinteractionwithfriendsandrelatives,buttheprocessistime-consuming.Theyhavetobesensitiveenoughtoobserveotherpeople’sbehaviorsandthenknowwhatproperbehaviorsindifferentsocialsituationsare.Sometimesthelearningprocessisbytrialanderror.Theycanonlyformrightbehaviorsafterbreakingtherulesofconductandbeingcorrectedbythecostlyconsequence.Iftheyhavealreadytakenasystematicetiquettecourseincollege,theycanfollowproperetiquetteandhaveamoreguaranteedfuture.
Secondly,asthesemeticulousrulesofconducthavebeenformedthroughoutChinesehistory,theyareuniqueChinesecharacteristicsandareinseparabletoChineseculture.Withtheadventofglobalization,westerncultureissoinfluentialthatmanyyoungpeopleoftenlooktoWesterncustomsandetiquetteasbeingfashionable.Forexample,nowadaysmostyoungwomeninChinawouldliketowearwestern-stylewhitedressesandveilsatweddingwhiletraditionalChineseweddingsfeatureredgownsforbridesandwhiteisanabsolutetaboo.Inthelongterm,ifthetrendtoadoptwesternetiquettecannotbecurbed,theChinesegenerationsinthefuturewilllosetheirculturalidentity.
Furthermore,theextinctionofChineseetiquettewillbetothedetrimentofthediversityofglobalculture.Tosomeextent,thecoursecanservetoarousecollegestudents’culturalprideandhelptopreserveandfurtherdevelopChineseculture.
Inconclusion,takingtraditionalChineseetiquetteincollegewillnotonlymakegraduatesmorepreparedfortheirfuture,butalsocanconstituteanimportantmeasureforcollegestudentstoformChineseculturalidentityandthereforetopreserveChinesetraditionandfurtherdevelopit.

Asaneconomicrulegoes,whensupplyoutweighsdemand,thepricedecreases.Thesameseemstrueforthecurrentsituationforcollegegraduates.Since1999,thecentralgovernmenthasimplementedtheGrandCollegeEnrollmentPlan,withthetotalnumberofcollegegraduatesontheincreaseinthefollowingyears.Buttheboomedeconomydoesnotprovideenoughjobsforthosegraduatescomingoutatatime.Therefore,manypeoplereasonthatcollegegraduatesarenotascompetentasbeforeformanyofthemhavedifficultiesinfindingjobs.ButIdisagreewiththisconclusion.
Firstly,admittedly,therearesomecollegegraduateswhoarenotcompetent,butthesestudentscannotrepresentallthestudents.DuetotheGrandCollegeEnrollmentPlan,moreandmorehighschoolstudentshaveaccesstothehighereducation.Inevitably,thestandardhasbeenlowered;otherwise,universitycannotadmitsomanyapplicants.Whilethosesmartstudentsinhighschoolsaremorelikelytohaveexcellentperformance,othernot-so-goodstudentswouldhavedifficultiesincollegelearning.Asaresult,thosegraduateswithbadperformanceincollegecannotdemonstratethevalueofhigherlearningtothesocietyandhencetheygraduallyformtheincompetentimageofcollegegraduates.
Secondly,thosewhoholdthisnegativeopiniondonottakethesocialcontextintoconsideration.Asisknown,intheperiodwhenChinacarriedoutplannedeconomicpolicies,collegegraduatesdidnotneedtoworryabouttheirjobs,for“iron-bowls”waitedforthemaftergraduation.Butafterthereformofhighereducation,collegegraduateshavetofindjobsforthemselves.Whenhundredsofthousandsofgraduatescompeteforalimitednumberofjobvacancies,thereareinevitablymanywhocannotprocureidealjobs.Besides,employmentisalwaysinfluencedbyglobalandnationaleconomy.Wheneconomyslowsdown,thecorporateworldwouldnotrecruitasmanyemployeesasbefore.Forexample,in2009,manycollegegraduates,frombothprestigiousuniversitiesandless-knownuniversities,havedifficultiesinhuntingjobs.Inthissense,itisnotcollegegraduatesthatareincompetent;instead,itisthesocialcontextthatisunfavorabletocollegegraduates.
Asfactorscombinetoleadtoaresult,onecannotsimplyreachconclusionswithouttakingvariousfactorsintoaccount.Otherwise,onewouldmakereductionistmistakes.Inthiscase,thosewhothinkcollegestudentsarenotascompetentasbeforehavemadethiskindofmistake.Theyjustattributecollegegraduates’difficultiesinfindingjobstotheirincompetence,withoutexploringthesocialandeconomicsituations.
