Steelsforhullconstructiontobeofnormalqualitymildsteelandhighstrengthsteel(yieldstress314N/mm2)approvedbytheClassificationSociety,andsteelincludingcastingandforgingtobeofqualitiesascomplyingwiththerequirementandtestoftheClassificationSociety.
Highstrengthsteel(yieldstress314N/mm2)usedinthehullconstructiontobeabt.
40%oftotalhullsteelweight.
SteelmaterialnotspecifiedbytheClassificationSocietytobeincompliancewithChineseIndustrialStandardandinaccordancetotheBuilder'spractice.
ApplicationofsteelgradetobeinaccordancewiththerequirementoftheClassificationSociety.
Scantlingtobebasedonship’sscantlingdraft(mld.)of10.40mandaccordingtotheClassRules.

1.1.2Workmanship
WorkstobeexecutedinaccordancewiththeBuilder’sconstructionpracticeandunderthesurveyoftheClassificationSocietyandtheOwnersupervisor.
ChineseShipbuildingQualityStandardandBuilder’sandMaker’sQualityStandardtobeappliedforworkmanshipofhullconstructionandoutfitting.CSQStobesubmittedtoOwnerforreference.
Temporaryaccessopeningsmaybeprovidedonshells,bulkheads,decks,walls,etc.forconvenienceofworksandtobeclosedinplacebyweldingandinspected.Buttemporaryaccessopeningstobeprovidedasfewaspossibleandnotpermittedonsheerstrake,stringerstrake,keelplateandbilgestrake,asfaraspossible.
TemporaryaccessopeningsafterweldingtobecheckedbyXray/UTifnecessary.
1.1.3Welding
Thehullistobeofallweldedconstruction.
WeldingtobeexecutedinaccordancewiththeBuilder'spracticeandundertheapprovaloftheClassificationSocietyexceptunimportantorattachmentweldwhichtobecarriedoutasperBuilder'spractice.WeldingproceduresandwelderstobeapprovedbyClass.
Manual,semi-automaticandautomaticweldingmethodsincludingonesideweldingshallbeappliedasperBuilder'spractice.
Allweldingforthemainhullandsuperstructureexposedtoweatherorwetspacetobeofdoublecontinuousfilletweldingforstiffeningwebs,stiffeners,frames.Intermittentweldingtobeusedforinternalstructureofsuperstructureforordinarybeams,framesandstiffenersindryspace.
Clamps,dogsandothersuitabledevicestotheBuilder'spracticetobeappliedforexecutionofweldingsoastoplacethematerialintoadequateposition.
Dogs,eyeplatesandclampsetc.usedfortheerectiontobecutandgrindsmooth.Anyundercutfoundinwaytobebuiltupwithwelding.
Thetemporaryfillingusedforerectiontobeneatlyremoved,damagestothebasematerialtoberepairedbyweldingandgrinding.
Inordertoascertainthesoundnessofwelding,suitablenumberofX-rayphotographtobetakenfortheimportantmembersaccordingtotheRulerequirement.
AllsuchX-rayphotographstobepresentedaccordingtoCSQSandcheckedbytheClassificationsurveyor.
X-rayphotographstobealsocheckedbyOwner.
1-1.4Slot,scallopsandhole
Slots,scallops,airholesanddrainholestobeprovidedwherenecessaryinaccordancewithBuilder'spracticeasshownonapprovedplans.
Inballastandoiltanks,particularcaretobegiventoprovidegooddrainageinordertogetgoodefficientpumpoperation.Suitabledrainholesandairholestobeprovidedontransversestructuralmembers.Thescallopsinbottomareatobenotlessthan100mmradius.
Lighteningholesatplatform(inhorizontalposition)inpeaktankstobegratingtype.
1.1.5StructureandTightnessTest:
StructuralandtightnessteststobecarriedoutinaccordancewiththeBuilder'spracticewhichislinewiththerequirementofClassificationSocietyandinthepresenceofOwner'ssupervisor.
1-2MAINHULL
1-2.1General
Thescantling,constructionandmaterialsofhullwithinarangeofmidshipparttobeasshownontheMidshipSection.
Thevesseltobeofallweldedsteelconstruction.
ThestructuralworkshallexecutedinaccordancewiththeBuilder'sstandardpracticeandClassrequirements.
Allconnectionsofframes,beams,bulkheadstiffeners,etc.tobracketstobecarefullymanagedtokeepcontinuousweldingaroundendsofbrackets.
ReinforcementfordockingtobecarriedouttoClassificationrequirement.
Openingintheshellplating,deckplatingetc.toberoundedandreinforcedwherenecessary.
Decksundermachinery,bollards,boatdavitandotherheavyconcentratedloadstobereinforcedbystiffenersorweldeddoublerwherenecessaryasapprovedbyClass.
Ingeneraldoublersnottobeusedinshellandindeckplating,exceptinwayofpillars.Insertplatesofincreasedthicknesstobeusedforreinforcement.
Bulbplateandflatbartobeappliedinwayofallwaterballasttanksinsteadofanglebarorbuilt-upsection.AnglesorbuiltupsectionsmaybeappliedwithOwner’sapproval.
Sharpedgesofplatesinwayoflighteningholes,scallops,drainholesandfreeedgesofflatbarstiffenersandcollarsaretobegroundsmooth.
1-2.2Platekeel
Theplatekeeltobeconnectedfirmlywithstemandsternframe.
1-2.3Stem,sternframeandrudderhorn
Stemtogetherwithbulbousbowtobeoffabricatedweldedsteelconstructionthroughoutwithwellroundedforwardedge,carefullyformedtoobtainfairconnectionstothehulllines,andweldedtotheshellandkeelplate.
Sternformtobeofmarinertypehavinganadequatepropelleraperture.Sternframetobeoffabricatedsteelplateweldedconstructionwiththepropellerbossofcaststeelandtherudderhornfabricatedwithcaststeelandsteelplate.Sternframetobeweldedtoshellandkeel.Rudderhornshellstructuretoprotrudethroughaftpeakstructuretoaftpeakplatform.
Lowhydrogenelectrodetobeusedforweldingthicksteelplatetocastingandhightensileplates.
Sterntubetobeoffabricatedsteelplateweldedconstructionandweldedfirmlybetweenshaftbossandbulkheadofaftpeak.
1-2.4Shellplating
Allplatesforshellanddecksthroughouttobearrangedlongitudinally.
ThicknessofshellplatetobeapprovedbyClass.Extrathicknessofshellplatingaroundanchorrubbingareaandbulbousbowbelowbellmouthtobe3mmaboverequirement.
Stringerplatesandsheerstraketobeconnectedwelded"T"typecornerfilletasshownontheMidshipSection.WeldingqualityandinspectiontobeinaccordancewiththerequirementsoftheRules.
Transverseframingsystemtobeadoptedforsideframesincargohold.
Anchorstobestowedwithno“frogeyes”asfaraspossible.Ifnotpossible,anchorstobestowedagainsta“frogeye”constructiontoensurethatanchordropsclearofbulbousbow.
Simi-roundbartobeweldedontransomedgeadjacenttoshellplate.ChafingbarstoprovidedonoutershellIWOmooringropes
Extrathicknessandstiffenersundersidestobeprovidedbyinsertedthickerplatesinwayofhawsepipe,aroundseachestopeningsanddeckonhatchcoamingcorners.OpeningsinshellplatingtobewellroundedandreinforcedbyinsertedthickerplatesaccordingtotheClassRules.Doublingplatesorsubstructurestobeprovidedundersupports,columns,legsetc.
Tugpushmarkstobemarkedontheshellplating,thestructureinthrustingpositiontobestrengthenedandstiffened.6Tugpushspotstobeprovidedatbulkhead3/4P&Swhen1tug;1/2and4/5P&Swhen2tugs.

1-2.5Bottomconstruction

Substantialscarpingarrangementstobefittedattransitionfromlongitudinaltotransversesystemandatengineroom/forepeakbulkhead.
Theuniformloadfortanktoptobe25t/m2inHoldNo.1/3/5and22t/m2inHoldNo.2/4.Itbeingunderstoodthelightweighttobeaddedaccordingly.
