52NurzurinternenVerwendungfrZFFriedrichshafenAGbestimmt.ForewordAftermorethanadecade,thetimehascomeforafundamentalrevisionofoneofthestandardworksonmeasurementandinspectionprocesscapability.Thefocuswhendrawingupthis3rdeditionofVDAVolume5,withitsnewtitle“MeasurementandIn-spectionProcesses,Capability,PlanningandManagement”,wasoncomprehensibilityofmethodologyinordertoachievebetterapplicabilityfortheuserinpractice.TheVDAVolume5hasbeencompletelyrevisedandupdatedwithallthechangenoticescom-piledintheVDAQMCsince2011.Therevisionincorporatesthelatestchangesrelatedtostandardsandtechnicaldevelopment.OneoftheinnovationsinVDAVolume5isthedivisionoftopicsintoamainvolumeandapracticalhandbook.Themainvolumegivesuserstechnicalguidanceandorientationintheprocedure.Thepracticalhandbookshowspracticalimplementationofthetopicfromthemainvolumeusingexamplesandusecases.Logichasbeenimplementedintheinspectionplanningmethodsothatthecontentsaretakenintoaccountrightatthebeginningoftheproductdevelopmentprocess.Themeasurementandinspectionpro-cesscapabilitythusactsasasystemsengineeringtoolforverificationandvalidationintheearlyphaseoftheproject.Atthesametime,forthefirsttime,aconnectionandconsistencytotheadjacentprocessesinspectionequipmentmanagement,inspectionplanningandinspectionprocessmanagement(includingthedefinedroles)wasap-plied.Therisk-basedapproachisappropriatelyandefficientlyembeddedintheinspec-tionprocessmanagement,offersspecificassistanceinselectingtheproceduretobackupauditdecisionsandallowsadifferentiatedapproachwhilebeingmindfulofeconom-icrequirements.TheideabehindVDAVolume5istoprovideascompleteanoverviewaspossibleofthehandlingofproofofcapabilityformeasurementprocesses.The3rdeditionhasbeenamendedinthefollowingaspects:

52NurzurinternenVerwendungfrZFFriedrichshafenAGbestimmt.Procedureforinsufficientsamplesizesinthe“measuringsystem”and“measure-mentprocess”trials.Procedureforsmallpre-seriesandproductionlotsindevelopmentandproductionConsiderationandmonitoringoftheongoingcapabilityusingstabilitymeasure-mentsThemeasurementuncertaintycalculationmethodshavebeenlargelyleftunchanged,downtotheindexadjustmentsandlinearitycalculations.Calculationsforfinetoleranc-es,one-sidedtolerancesandattributecalculationmethodshavebeenadded.Itisnecessarytocomplywithspecifiedtolerancesofindividualpartsandassembliestoguaranteethefunctionoftechnicalsystems.AccordingtoISO801534,itisas-sumedthatthetolerancelimitscorrespondtothefunctionallimitswhendefiningtherequiredtolerancesinthedesignprocess.Inspectionprocesscapabilityismorethanjustthereleaseoftheinspectionequipment,italsoincludesthehandlingofmeasurementuncertaintyinproductandmanufacturingdesign.Acomprehensivemeasurementresultconsistsofadeterminedmeasuredval-ueandameasurementuncertaintyinthemeasurementprocess.Intheareaoftoler-ancelimits,noreliablestatementcanbemadeaboutcomplianceornon-compliancewiththetolerancesduetothemeasurementuncertainty.Thiscanleadtoincorrectevaluationsofmeasurementresults.Differentstandardsandguidelinescontainre-quirementsforestimatingandconsideringthemeasurementuncertainty.Forthisrea-son,boththemeasuringsystemandmeasurementprocessuncertaintymustbetakenintoaccountasearlyastheplanningstageofmeasurementprocesses.Inthisrespect,companiesmustaddressvariousquestionsinimplementingandcertifyingtheirqualitymanagementsystem.Thisdocumentshowshowtomeetthesemanydemands.TheproceduresdescribedherearebasedonISO/IECGuide98-3(2008-09)31andDINENISO14253-120.ThetopicofconformityaccordingtoDINENISO14253-120cannotbecomprehen-sivelyrepresentedwithconventionalmethodsofmeasuringsystemanalysis.Someimportantreasonsforthisarethatcertaininfluencingquantitiessuchascalibrationuncertainty,qualityofthesettingstandards,errorlimitsandtemperatureeffectswerenotsufficientlycateredfor.Furthermore,knownmethodsofmeasuringsystemanalysisareusedonlytoassessindividualcomponentsseparately,butnottheentireinspectionprocess.withtheproofofcapabilitymethodformeasurementandinspectionprocess-es,thislatesteditionofVDAVolume5offersapractical,standard-compliantsolution.EvenacomparisonoftheheadingsoftheoldandnewrequirementsofDINENISO900116revealssignificantdifferences.Todate,the“controlofmonitoringandmeas-uringequipment”hasbeensufficient.Ontheotherhand,DINENISO900116hasbeenreferringto“resourcesformonitoringandmeasurement”since2015.Thisclearly06FOrEwOrDDokumentwurdebereitgestelltvomVDA-QMCInternetportalam02.11.2021um09:
